Review: Some reviewers don't like the explicit nature of the pictures, but they are perfect for concrete thinkers--kids, teens, and even adults, who need to "see" something to understand it. I've used these in my work with teens and adults with Autism to help teach that 1. Masturbation is okay, and 2. It is only okay in certain places. The folks I've worked with were able to understand the clear pictures along with the simple text and understood the information well enough to make surprisingly quick changes to some fairly problematic behavior. I think this is a great resource for ensuring the conversation around masturbation isn't judgmental--it isn't "bad" or "shameful"--in fact, it is a natural and enjoyable thing some people do, but also something that people do in private. And, as a person who has scoured the internet for a resource to help with teaching this very thing, this is definitely one of the simplest and straightforward visuals I've been able to find. I did make slight modifications to some of the vocabulary (cut out and taped typed text to over words) to ensure the text used vocabulary words I knew would be familiar to the guys I worked with.

Review: Like many autism parents, I am planning a few years in advance for my son to go through puberty. I think these books- even if you don't show them to your child are a really good exercise for parents to help you full process all the aspects of puberty, masturbation and socially responsible behavior through the eyes of a child. They help you think about certain lessons that you may take for granted in approaching these topics with your child. The photos are very graphic, my older daughters intercepted the book when it arrived and had a very good laugh- my husband and I did too. However after we all had our chuckle, we were glad to have this a guide when the time comes. In the meantime, it has given me a lot to prepare for- emotionally, logistically etc. and I am thankful for that. Highly recommend.

Review: Im just glad someone made a book on this topic. I bought this book thinking I could open it, read it to my son, and feel great. Well I looked through the book while he was at school. I like the fact that " everything " is explained clearly. At the same time there is cartoon pictures of " everything " Its a bit too graphic, but considering the topic what could you expect ? I sat down with my sons teachers and we agreed they should see the book first , being jr. high special needs teachers they got more experience with this. I would recommended this book. I strongly suggest looking over the book with a teacher , therapist , etc. first so you can get a better handle on how to approach your son with this book.

Review: I love how graphic in illustration it is, makes the person reading it feel comfortable about the changes or feelings they may feel about their bodies. I would recommend this book for boymoms of teenagers who want to speak on these subjects and do it accordingly with no embarrassed feelings attached.

Review: No no no. Not for my 12 year old. Or anyone under. Maybe for older kids/teens. 15+ that are ABSOLUTELY struggling to understand what is ok and whats not but the book essentially is just teaching your child how to masturbate. I'm returning. One star is too much.

Review: The book is very graphic, my son felt uncomfortable. That being said, we bought it because we needed to discuss some things and with a child with autism it can be very complicated. The book served its purpose but it is not a book we need to use more than once. Puberty is hard, so I appreciate the effort in writing the book.
